Our Mission in the Art of Dance

Arts Alliance of Central Texas (AAoCT) aims to promote the knowledge, education and experience in the performing art of ballet for children in the Dripping Springs, Texas area.

Objective

AAoCT aims to:
-
Provide open access for pre-professional level dance training and performance opportunities to children from all backgrounds by offering scholarships to area dance schools
-
Provide career and development opportunities for educators, dancers, musicians, composers, choreographers and designers, who collectively come together to create quality community performances
-
Create a partnership with area dance schools to promote local performances and introduce new audiences to dance
-
Run outreach work throughout the year in local primary schools

Core Values: What We Do

Outreach: provide access to productions and free dance experiences for patrons who otherwise could not afford it, and bring ballet into the community for those who are not able to attend the theatre

Training: offer scholarship opportunities to talented children who need financial assistance to take dance classes at local dance schools

Access to all: Dance is life-enhancing for both participants and audience members, and access to quality performances should be available to all regardless of age, race, health or financial situation

Making a Difference

Art is a nation’s most precious heritage. For it is our works of art that we reveal to ourselves, and to others, the inner vision which guides us as a nation. And where there is no vision, the people perish.
- President Lyndon B. Johnson, National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965

Aside from teaching discipline and focus, ballet introduces children to a world of creativity and beauty. Ballet nurtures children and places them in a setting where they can experience the consistency needed to develop trust and artistry.
- Rena G. Reeder, Artistic Director Central Texas Youth Ballet and Director of Dance AAoCT
